Function of Cutting oil.

1. Reduce friction – Provides lubrication to reduce friction at the contact surface between the blade and the workpiece surface.
2. Extend lifespan – cooling the tip of the cutting blade for extends the life of the blade.
3. Improve Accurary – Prevent metal scraps from sticking at the tip of the blade, to keep the cutting edge still sharp and precise.
4. Prevent rust – Remove metal scraps and prevent rust on the surface of workpieces and machines.

Types of cutting oil.

1. Neat cutting oil – Or Pure oil, is a cutting oil that doesn’t need to be mixed with water before use. It has the advantage of providing good lubrication and preventing the sticking of metal scraps. IDEMITSU’s pure oils have high wear-reducing properties at the cutting edge. This is because different materials and cutting speeds create different amounts of heat and pressure. Cutting oil lubricates the area between the cutting tool and the workpiece to reduce machine wear.
2. Water-soluble cutting oil – The oil that must be diluted before use by mixing with water. The advantage is that the machine is clean, reduces spoilage, and provides excellent heat dissipation. For example, IDEMITSU’s water-soluble cutting oil has a strong oil film. Can reduce oil mist there is a compound called “Emulsifier” which works to dissolve oil so that it can mix with water and is excellent for heat reduction.
